Dr. Amara Okonkwo , MD

Dr. Amara Okonkwo is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in cataract surgery and comprehensive eye care. She completed residency at Duke University Eye Center and has more than a decade of experience counseling patients through lens selection and outpatient surgery.

As Medical Director and a physician-owner of Unity Cataract & Cornea, Dr. Okonkwo focuses on clear communication, safety, and outcomes that match each patient’s lifestyle goals.

Outside clinic, she mentors students interested in medicine and volunteers at community vision screenings in Raleigh.
